Bay Credit Union is a credit union located in Ontario. It was founded in 1946. It primarily serves Thunder Bay.
Bay Credit Union was founded in 1946 in Port Arthur, Ontario, as People's Cooperative Credit Union Limited. It was established to serve the city’s Finnish speaking community. After Port Arthur and Fort William amalgamated to form Thunder Bay in 1970, the credit union’s service area expanded, and it adopted the Bay Credit Union name in 1975.
In 2015, Bay Credit Union joined with Apple Community Credit Union, whose history included earlier workplace based credit union amalgamations in northwestern Ontario.
Today, Bay Credit Union serves members in Thunder Bay and the surrounding region. It offers personal and business banking, borrowing, mortgages, credit cards, investments, and related financial services.
