iNova Credit Union is a credit union located in Nova Scotia. It was founded in 1936. It primarily serves Halifax area.
iNova Credit Union traces its origins to April 1, 1936, when postal workers in Halifax founded Halifax District Postal Credit Union. It was established as a financial cooperative for employees connected to Canada Post.
After later name changes, the credit union opened membership to the broader community and adopted the iNova name. Based on Almon Street in Halifax, iNova serves members in the Halifax region with personal and business banking, borrowing, mortgages, investments, and related financial services.
iNova is also exploring a potential merger with East Coast Credit Union, Acadian Credit Union, and Teachers Plus Credit Union. Member deposits are protected through the Nova Scotia Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation.
